The plant family Polygalaceae is commonly known as the Milkwort Family. It includes around 900 species of herbs, shrubs, and trees. Over half of the species are in the Polygala genus with 424 species.
I am only acquainted with one species, Senega sanguinea (Field Milkwort) which I ran across at Drover’s Prairie by accident on 6-22-26.
Perhaps I will run across other species in the future.
