Sagittaria latifolia (Broadleaf Arrowhead) at Farrington Park (next to my farm) on 8-11-13, #173-19.
Alismataceae Vent.
The plant family Alismataceae was named and described by Etienne Pierre Ventenat in Tableau du Regne Vegetal in 1799.
Plants of the World Online lists 18 accepted genera in this family of water plantains (as of 11-5-22 when I last updated this page). I think Sagittaria latifolium is the only member of the family I have run across. There are other species of water plants on the ponds at the farm and around the lake at the park next door, but they are members of different families.
