The plant family Nyctaginaceae was named and described by Antoine Laurent de Jussieu in Genera Plantarum in 1789.

As of 12-4-21 when this page was last updated, Plants of the World Online lists 32 genera in the family commonly known as the Four O’Clock Family.

The only species I am familiar with in this family so far is the wildflower Mirabilis nyctaginea (Wild Four O-Clock). You can click on the name to go to its own page.
