The plant family Nyctaginaceae was named and described by Antoine Laurent de Jussieu in Genera Plantarum in 1789.

As of April 14, 2021, Plants of the World Online lists 32 genera in the family commonly known as the Four O’Clock Family.

The only species I am familiar with in this family so far is the Mirabilis nyctaginea which you can read about by clicking HERE.
