Haemodoraceae Family:

Anigozanthos ‘Cape Red Lead’ (Kangaroo Paws) on 4-15-12, #86-15. The photo was taken at the mansion in Leland, Mississippi.

Haemodoraceae R.Br.

The Haemodoraceae Family was named and described by Robert Brown in Prodromus Florae Novae Hollandiae in 1810.

As of 12-18-23 when this page was last updated, Plants of the World Online lists 15 accepted genera in this family sometimes referred to as the bloodwort family. That number could change as updates are made on POWO.

I only have experience with the Anigozanthos ‘Cape Red Lead’ (Kangaroo Paws).
