Montiaceae Family:

Claytonia virginica (Virginia Spring Beauty) on 4-11-20, #686-25.

Montiaceae Raf.

The plant family Montiaceae was named and described by Constantine Rafinesque in Annales Generales de Sciences Physiques in 1820. It is commonly known as the Miner’s Lettuce Family.

As of 1-2-23 when this page was last updated, Plants of the World Online lists 16 species in the genus. That number could change periodically as updates are made on POWO.

The only species in this family I have identified on my farm in Windsor, Missouri, in Pettis County (Henry is across the road) is Claytonia virginica (Virginia Spring Beauty). You can click on the name to go to its page.
