Primulaceae Family:

Primulaceae Batsch ex Borkh.

The Primulaceae Family was named and described by August Johann Georg Karl Batsch and ex author Moritz (Moriz) Balthasar Borkhausen in Botanisches Wörterbuch 1797.

Plants of the World Online lists 52 accepted genera in this family of herbaceous and woody flowering plants. This family is commonly known as the Primrose family. The Wikipedia says there are about 53 genera with 2,790 species. I think it is safe to say 52 is about 53.
