Hello Linda! Yes, it is iceberg lettuce… Last month it was $3.29 and I refused to buy any. In the last few weeks, it has been $4.99. The Dollar General store has it for I think $2.50, or something like that, but it looks awful. I bought my last couple of heads at Walmart for $1.75 when I was out of town. I buy mostly local when I need a few things, but if I am out of town I go to Walmart. Take care and thanks for the comment!
Hello, Jane! I bought a head at Walmart for $1.75. Makes a big difference buying from a small local chain compared to a very large chain. Sorry to hear about your flooding. Take care and thanks for the comment!
Hello, Suz! I don’t know why the lettuce is so expensive at the local store when Walmart is $1.75. GEEZ! If I run out, I can wait until I can go to Walmart 18 or 28 miles away. Take care and thanks for the comment!
What in the world? Is that iceberg? I just looked — a head of iceberg lettuce in my favorite grocery is selling for $1.49.

They have been very expensive here too, because we’ve had so much flooding.

I don’t eat iceberg lettuce, but this seems over the top! Even the specialty lettuce is $1.75-3.00 here, and I think Oxford is expensive!
