Lysimachia nummularia ‘Goldilocks’ on 6-1-19, #580-10.
Primulaceae Batsch ex Borkh.
The plant family Primulaceae was described by Moritz (Moriz) Balthasar Borkhausen in Botanisches Wörterbuch 1797. He gives credit to August Johann Georg Karl Batsch for naming the family.
As of 12-22-24 when this page was last updated, Plants of the World Online lists 57 genera in this family of herbaceous and woody flowering plants. This family is commonly known as the Primrose family.
Until 5-5-25, the only member of this family I hd experience with was the Lysimachia nummularia ‘Aurea’ and ‘Goldilocks’. On 5-5-25, I was invited to go to a private native prairie where I found Primula meadia (Common of Eastern Shooting Star). Click on the name to go to its own page.
