The family Portulacaceae was named and described by Antoine Laurent de Jussieu in Genera Plantarum in 1789.
Plants of the World Online lists two accepted genera in this family. The Wikipedia says there is only one.
The 2013 version of The Plant List (no longer maintained) named 10 genera plus 6 others that were unresolved. That just means progress is being made to reclassify the plant world. Humans are next.
This family is undergoing a makeover so accurate information about species will have to wait… There used to be over 20 genera now it is down to 1 or two… Next thing you know, it may be included in another family.
