xGasteraloe

xGasteraloe are crosses between various species of Aloe and Gasteria. I have grown several of these and all but one have done very well.

xGasteraloe are all unresolved names, according to The Plant List. Below is a list of names I found. Using information from The Plant List, Llifle, the Wikipedia and Tropicos, I have complied this list showing current unresolved xGasteraloe snd their synonyms with the authors that published their descriptions. This does not include their industry name YET… There are MANY more I am sure, but this list is what is documented on The Plant List. There are MANY xGasteraloe Hybrids available with names given to them by the hybridizer or companies that sell them.

*Remember, the author’s name (not italicized) after the plant’s scientific name is part of the entire scientific name. The author’s name in parenthesis was the one who named or described it first with a different name, now a synonym.

As you can tell, the first names given to these hybrids were “Aloe x”, then they were changed to x Gastrolea (one was x Lomateria). As you can see by the dates, these Aloe x Gasteria Hybrids are not a new thing…
